Marguerite vs. The Anniversary WOD

Ahh yes! Anniversary WOD time. I love these days. This time Marguerite faced off against her former self in the Anniversary WOD. For those of you who don’t know this is the day that we celebrate your one year membership with CFS by repeating your very first WOD…exactly as you did it the first time. That’s right, same weights, same reps, same scaling and everything. No matter how silly it may seem! For Marguerite the weights and scaling seemed almost ridiculous. She has come so far this past year through hard work and discipline. So we set her up for our typical first WOD of 5 Pull ups, 10 Push press and 15 squats in a 15 minute AMRAP format. A year ago she got 6 rounds before the final buzzer, and she was gassed! Today her goal was a lofty one. She hoped to achieve one round per minute. Would her year of hard work bring her through? Does her goal sound crazy? I’ll be honest, it sounded tough to me. Once she started, the pace was blistering. The first round done in about 52 second. That was essentially unbroken, leaving no room for any resting if she was to get one round per minute. As the minutes ticked by she just kept going and going. Every time I looked she was still moving.  By WOD’s end she had completed 16 rounds with 10 seconds to spare. Crazy! Nice work Marguerite. We can’t wait to see what the next year holds for your fitness!

5:30 AM

Three rounds, 15-12-and 9 reps, for time of:
135 pound barbell Thrusters
45 pound weighted Pull-ups

For weighted pull-ups, placing a 45 pound dumbbell between the legs above crossed ankles works great.

    10lbs for weighted pull ups

    Definitely not feeling well this morning and was scared of the uncomfortable zone, leading to thrusters with no hip pop (except last round). Glad I went and shoke off the fuzz (mental and physical).

    5:30 was uncharistically quiet today, we should’ve been rockin’ the gregorian chants. Mike and Kandi did great jobs pushing right through the movements without hesitation/breaks.
