Complete as many rounds as possible in 12 minutes of:
95 pound barbell Thruster, 9 reps
15 ft Rope Climb, 1 ascent

  1. 7 rounds + rope climb Rx’d
    (no + thrusters, did reverse order)
    really liked this one. Wish I had pushed myself a degree more into uncomfortable zone. Did Thrusters unbroken but then rested too much instead of just doing the climb.

    All of the new year’s lifters made great efforts. Everyone was on a rope and pushing hard. Great way to start the year.

    Had to front squat then jerk it up due to grumpy shoulders. Glad to get the WOD in!

    Congrats to the 6 CFS’ers that dragged themselves in for the simple, but brutal, first CFS WOD of 2011.

    Great work on the rope climbs!

    • after doing the WOD I’m impressed. I think I could’ve pushed it to 8.5 rounds, but can’t imagine 9.5.

  4. Tried this one with 80# and knotted rope climbs. As usual was tougher than it looked. Made it through 4 rounds and the rope climb (Started on the rope)

    An old friend used to say that if you don’t write it down it doesn’t count so here goes. I have a goal of making it through Fran as RX’ed in 2011. I thought this would be a good place to “Write it down and improve on it next time”

    Great way to start the New Year this morning, Anybody else have a goal for 2011?

    • That’s a great goal (and closer for you than I think you realize).

      Ring Dips and HSPUs! Real ones, full ROM and one after another.

      oh… and get RSL selected.

  5. New year goal to get Jim some Armani shorts, to go with those tanks……

    No really, to be there regularly and to rx more, maybe do real pull ups is a start.

  7. Betty and I have been doing Crossfit for a year now. The Cheek family is lucky to be a part of such a great gym. You guys are the best!

  8. My goal is to make it through the year with fewer injuries and physical issues. I’m not sure how to put that in quantifiable terms though. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I guess it could be something along the lines of doing at least 3 M-WODs a week or something.

    BW Snatch
    Do at least 5 Mobility Wods a week
