  1. This is one of my all time favorite excerpts from a Teddy Roosevelt speech. I feel that it applies to each and every person at CFS. Every day I’m amazed and inspired by the effort that everyone puts into each workout. Thank you Jeff and Charity for letting us be a part of your great family.

      Was a push for me today. took a step backwards on HSPU needing the mat…but each day is different. Really enjoyed the WOD today…and as always 5:30 crew rocks!

    • Great quote and thoughts Matt. Completely agree. I honestly don’t know how Jeff/Charity have been able to attract such good people.

      I’d rather get burned trying than never try (doesn’t mean I sometimes wuss out 🙂 ).
      I always liked a follow-on quote by Joe Rogan when asked about what a critic has to say about him:
      “Critics are dodgeball rejects who are too scared to do it themselves.”

    Great inspiration. I have read that before and I love it too. Definitely describes the effort by all of the CFS faithful. Thanks for joining with us.

    On another note…made Annie’s (Elana’s) brownies today at work. Use maple syrup as the sweetener. Baked them for 30 minutes instead of 35-40. Ridiculous! Station 37 A-shift 2011 dessert of the year nominee for sure. Everyone was amazed. Thanks Annie.

    Brandie and I were chatting before the WOD started and agreed that we were a little less concerned about number of rounds on this WOD. Just challenge ourselves as much as we can on these movements.
    Of course we’re always supposed to be challenging ourselves, and by no means slow down, but we just weren’t going to stress if we sit there getting 1 HSPU at a time.

    I really enjoyed just taking each individual rep as a challenge to do my best (other than the KBS break of course, I get one benefit as a big guy)

    PR, last time I got 6 rounds + 3 HSPUs. HSPU are really hard after muscle-ups or dips.

    Love that quote from Teddy Roosevelt. Good one Matt! I particularly like this part

    I felt the same going into this wod too, Shawn and Brandie. But not John, I swear I kept getting lapped on HSPUs he was busting everything out!
