I like the way Ryan saidit, that DB Squat Cleans are mean. Not evil because they’re not our most technical movement, just a grunt fest! (that’s so good for us!) Strange day when I’m looking forward to the DU’s.

Great working out next to Jim, always a pleasure and motivation. And great job Chris/Ellen and everyone getting the last three days in. No matter the scaling, there has been a lot of work done. 250 reps of anything is tough!

  3. I’m out of town, but I’ll be back next week!

a 45 DB in one hand and a 40 DB in the other for hang squat cleans because they are not hard enough and it is more fun that way.

Felt a little better on the OHSs today, but still need to work on those. Double-unders and toe to bars felt pretty good. I kind of want to hide all the dumbells for a month at the end of the day so that we can’t do another DB squat clean in a wod for a while.

    • Doh!!!! 40 and 45, that is brutal – did you do all 5 rounds like that?
I agree, hide them forever – we don’t need them, what, are we going to do arm curls with them or something?

If this is taking you guys 20-25 minutes, I guess I’m in for like 40. Can’t wait :o)

    • ah come on, we haven’t had DB Squat Clean Thrusters yet! The best one!

      • Careful! We will end up with 100 DB squat clean burpees for time WOD before I have a chance to hide the dumbells.

      • 100 DumbBell Squat Clean Thruster Burpees for time, I like it!!

Do it Jeff, I dare you! (I just lost a few friends didn’t I?)

      • I am now left with no choice but to launch 2 black ops team to simultaneous ‘disappear’ Shawn before he dares Jeff to post a horrible DB WOD again and to destroy whatever computer server has the above comment stored on it.

  5. Time…don’t know?
4 rounds Rx, but had to stop there (so not really Rx!). Not only was I so tired and sweaty I thought I might go down…but my right shoulder had had enough. Have not had to quit one in a while – somewhere between humbling and frustrating. Trying to call it an exercise in Moderation. Oh, and I had the 40/45 #DB’s too! UGH!!!

Funny thing is though…still had a smile on my face when I left. CFS!

    • It is one thing to stick it out when you are huffing and puffing, which is always encouraged up a certain point, and another thing entirely to ignore your body’s signals to stop because you have potentially tweeked a joint or pulled a muscle. No sense in destroying your shoulder for next time.

Rest, recover and hit it hard next time.

Ben and I too, did it with 1 45# and 1 40# DB.
I agree with Shawn in that, I never thought I’d see the day when I looked forward to the DU’s….today was that day!

  7. Tom-

Here is the link to the shoulder/upper rib mobility exercise we were working in the gym today.

  8. Wow! Sounds like an amazing day in the gym. Brutal WOD. Hated every minute of it when I did it. Ben- excellent choice to throw in the towel. We always have to ask ourselves if we are improving or detracting from our quality of life with what we are doing during a WOD. Coaches- Gret job! Shawn- be careful what you ask for! Three tough WODS in a row this week. WHat is next!?
