These are a few of my favorite things, Part 4: Nourished Kitchen

I believe I have posted about this website before. Nourished Kitchen is one of the best Real Food sites out there. It is 100% spot on using only quality ingredients prepared in traditional ways. They bolster the nutrient density of many of their recipes by using ingredients that are rich in fat soluble vitamins, omega 3s and minerals. You’ll find gluten free alternatives, proper grain preparation, raw dairy, grass fed meats, broths and coconut based recipes galore. So if you didn’t see my post about this site in the past check it out. Many of you already knew about this site before today, but what you may not have known about, and this is my favorite feature to their website, is their daily email. Usually I get sick of daily emails from people after about a week. Everyday I look forward to the moment when Jenn (that is what Charity casually refers to the site’s author as-she thinks they are besties) sends us our daily recipe, health tip or other interesting tidbit. This is a great free resource. Take advantage of it!

  1. 9 + 2MU
    Nate put me in “sub”mission:
    – transition MUs (w/ blue band), finally getting the swing up part!
    – 2 mats for 3 or 4 rnds then just held Hand Stands for 30 sec each
    – 53 lbs (probably should have gone higher but 70 didn’t feel right)
Nothing caused me to breath very heavy but I had no arm/shoulder strength – very frustrating!
Good seeing Steve this morning – hope to see more of you!

  2. 10 rounds + 2MU (SC,10wks)
    2 Blue Band MU
4 ugly HSPU on 24″ box
    8 cal Row
fun to move in ways I haven’t for quite awhile, and slowly build up some comfort and speed. Though still moving very carefully on this stuff.
    First wod with Steve, welcome!

  3. I liked Nourished Kitchen on facebook. It’s a great way to get updates from Charity’s BFF. http://www.facebook.com/#!/nourishedkitchen?sk=wall

  4. 8 Rounds + HSPU

Scaled to 4-Blue Band ring dips, 4-HSPU with 35# plate and 2 ab mats and 8-1.5 pood KBS

Tried the 2 pood big boy KB and like Mark said it just felt wrong. Seems like it has been a while since I have done KBS so I went down a notch. HSPU turned into HS Holds with very slight arm bending at round 4.

I hear Shawn is going to buy us a round of drinks if the Broncos beat New England on Saturday, Awesome. Seriously how much could 26 soda waters with lime, 1 Sierra Nevada (John) and 1 Macallan 12 neat (Glenn) cost?

  5. 9 rounds Rx’d
Did this one in July and I got 7 rounds but only 3 Rx’d.

  6. 8 rounds + 1 MU – scaled

2 MU – jumping MU to high rinds
    4 HSPU – 5 rounds Rx, then 3 rounds w 10lb plate
    8 Kettle Bell – 2 pood

HSPU really went fast…all that shoulder really tax’d me when getting to HSPU…

  7. Sub’d ring dips and pullups for MU’s.
1 abmat for hspu (cheated on a few)
    9 rounds + pu’s and ring dips

  8. 8 rounds + 4 KBS
    (scaled – 1 MU = 4 ring dip + 4 pull ups, 35# KBS, 10#+15# plate for HSPU)

Could barely hold myself up on the HSPU’s toward the end. 45# felt too heavy when I picked it up before the start of the workout, so used 35#. Once I got warmed up, 35# felt too light – note to self for next time.

  9. 12 rounds + 1 hspu – scaled 2 pull ups and 2 ring dips w/band for each mu, 4 hspu with mat and 2 plates, 8 kb – started with 53# but form suffered on the first round so I dropped to 1 pood (we don’t have a 44# at home). Goal for 2012 is to do real hspu, dip without band and scale more so I can keep moving through the workouts, less staring at the bar, floor, rope, wallball etc.

  10. Cindy
    15r + 1pushup Rx
    (push ups -ugh)
