  1. it was only 18mins, why are they so tired.

  2. Way to give it your all, gentlemen!! This is what it looks like to be in the top 25% in the NW! So proud of you!!
Everyone has done such a great job with the open workouts! Outstanding effort by Casey, Andrea, Ben, Dave, Matt, John, Ryan and Chris! Even crazy sick, Jeff posted an incredible score of burpees on the first wod! The encouragement and camaraderie have been the best part for me. CFS is such a supportive gym! Two more WODs to go. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. 6:53 25# on DB, 30 seemed too much during setup but in retro – I wasn’t too stressed with the 25s. The PUs were fine (grps of 5) until the last round and then the last group felt like 30 sec for the last 5! Took awhile to smooth out the Squat Clean then Thruster tech (good thing I don’t chew gum – I couldn’t do that and think at the same time….) I liked the intensity of everybodies’ workout this morning.

  4. 5:46

Still taking it easy on my back. I used 25lb dumbbells

  5. 10:48 rx’d

Total pukey feeling at the end. Ugh!

    • 9:14 rx’d

I agree with Annie on this one. Between feeling pukey and feeling like I couldn’t breathe, it just slowed me down a ton. it probably would have taken me another minute or so if I didn’t have Ryan and Wendy yelling at me.

Speaking of Wendy…….great job incorporating “unassisted” pull ups into the WOD. Looked great!

  6. 7:00 Rx-ish (shared 30 & 35 DBs w/ Jim the John/Ryan style)
Pretty happy except that at the start of every pull up set I did the typical stall: chalked up, got ready and stared for 5 secs. At least the first two rounds I should’ve just walked over and forced myself on the bar immediately. Great group to start a week with.

love me some DB Squat Clean Thrusters. Only thing that could make them better would be DB Squat Clean Thruster Burpees!

  7. 7:23 rx’d w/ 35lb DBs

I was redlining this whole workout, but the worst part was after it was over. My forearms hurt so bad I felt like they wanted to puke. It took a couple minutes before that feeling went away.

  8. 20:32 95# Barbell thrusters and blue band pull ups. I turned this into a depressing mind numbing slog by picking a weight that was too heavy. I felt like pulling the 10’s off and continuing on with 75# after round two rounds but decided to make it a longer, heavyish (For me) WOD.

“I have never seen a plateau or stall in progress that cannot be attributed to improper rest and recovery or undisciplined nutritional intake”-Jeff Martin Brand X

I can always attribute a lack of progress to the above statement but it is still extremely frustrating to slog through a WOD feeling like you should be doing better. I have to come back to one of Shawn’s previous comments and compare my development to where I was when I started CF. I know my fitness has improved tremendously so i have to keep focusing on that. Just a random thought.

    • This is an easy WOD to get ‘fooled’ into Rx’ing weight wise.

Try just scaling everything for a while. Make it so you have no excuse to stop working for more than 5-10 seconds at time. Once you get used to going a little faster with the lower loads it will be easier to decide when to scale or not and by how much.

Then just really push yourself to go heavy when a strength WOD comes up.

  9. Thanks Matt for coaching today, The twenty I owe you is well worth it thank you for your help with pull ups its a great feeling finally getting up there.

    • So excited for you! Huge accomplishment! Not many marathoners can do pull ups! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Great job Wendy! That’s awesome! ๐Ÿ™‚
