Another Concession…

Kids like juice, pop and other sweet drinks. That’s just the way it is. Pictured above is another concession we have made in trying to help our kids find a balance between eating Real Food and being a kid. We have only tried the lemonade one on the left. As you can see from the ingredient list it definitely falls under the “concession” category. The positives of this product are that it contains no high fructiose corn syrup or artificial colors as most “kid drinks” do, it makes tasty popsicles as well as lemonade and has only 6 grams of sugar per  16 oz. once mixed up. Besides the small bit of sugar in it, the rest of the sweetness is due to the ingredient stevia, which is by far the best and most natural of all of the non-nutritive sweetners. When used in moderation this drink is a good way for your kids to have a treat they love, feel like a kid and avoid most of the dangers of traditional kid-friendly beverages. Is it perfect? Decidedly not. Is it a Real Food? No. Does it beat the heck out of  Coke and Capri-Sun on a hot day when the kids want something besides the  Kombucha, milk or water they drink 95% of the time? Absolutely!  Should you be guzzling lots of it during the 91 day challenge? Well, its a close second just behind the infamous Stein bread!

    First time I’ve really been able to get unassisted pistols, and I did all 50! 165lbs for the Hang PC.

  3. I didn’t make it into to Crossfit today because I had an amazing running partner named Maggie way to kick it today 2.5 miles in 24 min. Can’t wait for next Friday Maggie 🙂
