  1. 9:33 Rxd, I know you fire breathers won’t think this time is hot but I loved this WOD – I wasn’t missing this in the world! I realized I could have pushed the squats harder 1/2 way through, next time.

    Really wanted to get the rope climbs faster, the spirit was willing, the drive was there but the hand grip just couldn’t keep up. Oiy! Perhaps if I relaxed and tried to move more efficiently (kept losing feet on way down and was mostly arms).

    Big props to Mark who zippidy do dah’d his way up and down the ropes. And impressed with Ellen’s patience to make her way up the rope with foot lock after foot lock. Ellen with the Rx!

    • Thanks Shawn, my time wasn’t so good (17:?) but I did RX, I think for the first time – ever. I noted Shawn’s time in my journal so I know what to strive for next time. Everyone did great this morning.

  3. Don’t think I’ll be able to make it into the gym today. Any suggestions on what I should substitute for the rope climb? One thing I don’t have at home is a 15 foot rope….

    • If you have a place for pull ups and a towel you don’t mind stretching a little, my favorite sub are towel pull ups or jumping towel pull ups.

      Just place the towel over the bar and do the pull up (or jumping version), for bonus alternate the hand placement each rep (right above left and reverse). Scale the reps to what you think would be equivalent effort.

  4. I was all set to come down at 4:15 and then remembered there’s only a 5:15 on Friday so that didn’t quite work for me today. I went over to Carole’s and did all the squats but did 15, 7, 5 of pullups and pushups instead of the rope subs. I was determined to do all the squats and I did! Just kept breaking them up into groups of about 10. Pullups with her band and pushups on knees.

    I believe my time was 20:26.

    I saw Mark’s time and wanted to go for it, and I though I was on track until I realized that we had a mix up with the clock and had to add 1:35 onto our final score. >_< I wondered how I did this in 8:16 when I initially looked at the clock.

      I think of this WOD similar to (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=botdmsQilnU) an episode of the old TV series “Cheers” and a character named Cliff – a postman who was a font of trivia that no one cared about. The episode had him on Jeopardy and he was asked every bit of trivia he knew about and of course he answered them BUT he didn’t win because on Final Jeopardy he risked it all on a question he couldn’t answer. I’ll be back to normal after the stars un-align…. 🙂
